Cloud accounting

Cloud accounting software is similar to traditional, on-premises, or self-install accounting software, only the accounting software is hosted on remote servers. Data is sent into ‘the cloud,’ where it is processed and returned to the user.

All application functions are performed off-site, not on the user’s desktop. In cloud computing, users access software applications remotely through the Internet or other network via a cloud application service provider.

Our recent acquisition of the Keepers office in Burgess Hill strengthens significantly our experience with these software packages

We believe these are the key advantages of using cloud accounting software:

  • The use of cloud servers mean that accounting entries are saved immediately and automatically – you never need to ‘back up’ your data.
  • Cloud accounts can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, and include mobile functionality.
  • Multiple users can access the account simultaneously, from separate locations – allowing for further efficiency in preparing the accounting records. As your accountants, we can access your data just as quickly and easily as you. This benefits you not just at year-end, but all year round.
  • Fees can be structured to allow reasonable and manageable monthly payments via direct debit.
  • General use of the packages themselves is simpler and more intuitive – with a better service from the support departments when things go wrong.
  • Most providers have partnerships with other online applications, so your other programs such as CRM, retail and inventory tracking can be integrated.

We are proficient in dealing with all of the leading brands. Up to now, we have found that the cloud accounting providers ‘Kashflow’, ‘Xero’ and ‘QuickBooks’ offer excellent overall packages – with their combination of functionality, simplicity of use and monthly fees being among the best of the bunch.
